We-Q Consulting Services: Ian Johnson, Ph.D.
Ian is an author, teacher and management consultant. He completed the Holacracy™ Facilitator Training Program in June of 2008. Ian is an expert on collaboration, and brings his extensive business experience to Vollett Executive Coaching,
Ian began his career as a biochemical researcher. After completing his Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the University of Bristol, England he worked in London, as an Editor for the Biochemical Journal. In 1973 Ian immigrated to Canada, where he worked as a Biochemical Research Assistant at the University of Toronto.
From 1977 to 1996 he worked for Dupont Canada Health Sciences Division. He began as a technical sales representative in Vancouver, and in 1987 was transferred to Toronto. There he worked as Business Development Manager, Systems Manager, and Quality Management Consultant.
DuPont sponsored Ian as a consultant to their Health Care Clients, and in this role he gave seminars, lead workshops and conducted consulting assignments across Canada.
He represented DuPont Canada at the Canadian College of Health Service Executives (1992 – 1994). He also served as a member of the Science Council of British Columbia, Biotechnology Awards Committee (1995 – 1996).
Ian established his collaboration consulting practice, We-Q Consulting Services, in 1999, and published his first book, How to Lead and Still Have a Life! in 2001.
Currently, Ian keeps busy with his consulting practice, and teaching business skills at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. His textbook, Marketing Solutions: How To Grow Your Professional Practice, is used by hundreds of students across Canada.
Ian is a founding member of the Vancouver Integral Salon. He also finds time to donate his expertise to BC Social Venture Partners. The Partners are an innovative network of BC business leaders who leverage time, money and connections to help not-for-profit organizations create lasting change in our communities.
Ian says:
